Rally of Ypres is cancelled - hotel further closed

Today it was announced that the Renties YpresRally, scheduled for 20-22 November 2020, will be cancelled due to the furious corona pandemic. Consequently, our hotel will also remain closed during this period. We will communicate later when the hotel/restaurant reopens. We first await the further measures of the Belgian/Flemish/Provincial/Municipal 😉 authorities.

New COVID-19 measures & "Thank you!"

The government decided last week on a series of new measures relating to the COVID-19 problem. For more explanation see the government website on COVID-19. These include that restaurants have to close their doors. In principle, hotels may remain open and continue to offer meals to their guests, but external guests may no longer be admitted.

For many things, this endangers profitability as well as the guest experience. That is why we have decided that Hostellerie Mont Kemmel **** will be exceptionally closed until 18 November 2020. As from Thursday 19 November we will be open again (amongst others for the Ypres Rally which takes place that weekend). All reservations until 18 November 2020, both for the restaurant and the hotel, will be cancelled due to this case of "force majeure".

We remain accessible via our contact form on our website or directly via our e-mail address. info@montkemmel.be . The messages sent to us are read at regular intervals and replied to systematically according to their priority.

We wish everyone strength in these special times. We also thank the more than a thousand guests who have put their trust in us over the past 3 to 4 months. We were glad that you found your way to us again. We have already offered all our guests who were here on Saturday evening on the "last night" for this new lock-down a free aperitif as well as a discount to encourage them to come again at a later time, in better times. After all, the guest experience will be 100% of the party again.

You're doing well! 😉

Update COVID-19 measures

Here you will find a short update of the COVID-19 measures in force in Hostellerie Mont Kemmel ****. We first refer to our own COVID-19 page. The following measures concerning COVID-19 are in force throughout Belgium. We strictly adhere to these measures and expect the same from our guests. In the past 3 months this has always gone well with us at Hostellerie Mont Kemmel **** in 99% of the cases. And by making some adjustments here and there: even 99.99% of the cases. 😉

For hotels and restaurants basically nothing changes. But bear in mind that in a restaurant a maximum of 10 people can sit at one table. WARNING that everyone at that table belongs to THE SELFT SOCIAL Bubble. If you come together with people from DIFFERENT SOCIAL Bubbles, you can still sit at a restaurant, but then we place several tables in one row but with the necessary distance (at least 1.5 meters) between them. Visually this is as it were one table but in reality they are different. Our experience shows that this is not really a problem for our guests.

We also continue to organise smaller seminars, workshops, etc. and this completely corona-proof. In U-format we can go up to 9 persons, in classroom-format up to 17. Please contact us via info@montkemmel.be or via our contact form.

Your safety, and that of the other guests and -also important- our employees, is ALWAYS number 1. Deviations from these rules are NEVER allowed (so do not ask or suggest 😉 ).

So far this update on the COVID-19 measures at Hostellerie Mont Kemmel ****.

Stronger COVID-19 measures as decided on 6 October 2020

Thanks for the successful summer season 2020!

Thank you to the more than 1,000 guests, good for about 2,000 overnight stays, who booked with us Hostellerie Mont Kemmel **** in the last 3 months (July-August-September 2020). The average stay was slightly longer than we are used to and was about 2 nights per reservation. These results are in line with what was also generally observed: the rural and coastal hotels are doing very well (see among others the article in the Dutch hospitality magazine Hospitality-Management). "Consumers want to go out again, but in an environment where there is peace and quiet and space. ", according to the magazine.

What first announced itself as a difficult season, turned out to be very positive. The reactions to the kitchen of Chef Frédéric Lamquet and our new Head WaiterGeert Van Exem are downright positive. The fact that we strictly adhere to all anti-corona measures was highly appreciated by the many guests and gave us a lot of bookings and goodwill. Thank you everyone. Also a compliment to our team who have to make extra efforts every day to keep everything on track!

The fall will be less crowded. The ideal moment to visit Flanders in general and Heuvelland, Ypres & Poperinge in particular ? There are still some highlights on the programme: the Ghent-Wevelgem cycling race (3 passages on the Kemmelberg), 11 November commemoration ceremony in Ypres, the Ypres Rally (European level!), Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Bookings for the restaurant and hotel can be made via our booking form or directly via our reservation module (rooms & packages).

Welcome - Bienvenu
